La Luz is one of those bands that makes us wish we just had a “Cool” section, not only because their hard to pigeonhole style is a
wonderfully additive rich mix of Surf, doom, doo-wop, psyche, and raw funky-ness, but also because in talking to everyone at the shop, universally, everyone said “they’re just cool.”
Dreamy psychedelic waves and harmonies that celebrate forms of love and friendship through transcendent melodies, come together with production by the incomparable Adrian Younge (of Jazz is Dead, and producer of the Delphonics, Ghostface Killah, Kendrick LaMar, and numerous soundtracks) who says “We both create music with the same attitude, and that’s what I love about them.” “They are never afraid to be risky and their style is captivating.”
La Luz’ fourth LP, simply and significantly, titled La Luz, came out last Friday, and we are extremely excited to welcome them to our
stage, while at the same time welcoming many of you back to the shop in its role as performance space. The guest list for this event is
open now with pre-order/purchase of La Luz. Due to our desire to keep everyone safe, this will be a low-capacity, vaxxed and masked event, and proof of vaccination is required.
The ladies of La Luz will be signing and personalizing album inserts for all attendees, and they’ve also agreed to sign a handful for folks who can’t make the performance, but would still like to get something signed, so, while they last we’ve set a handful of copies of La Luz on CD and LP aside for folks who cannot make it to the show, but who order through fingerprintsmusic.com prior to the in-store.
RSVP to attend in person or by calling 562.433.4996. Orders for signed copies of La Luz (no performance) are available in store, or on the web store.
