Raised on a diet of songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, K.D. Lang, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, and Fingerprints alumnus Missy Higgins, Australian artist Angie McMahon keeps the emphasis on story-telling lyricism, but brings a contemporary and fiery view to the art of song. At times reminiscent of eyes-closed bedroom air guitar gotten slightly out of control, Angie also has a softer, more vulnerable side that’s been compared to War on Drugs and Phoebe Bridgers. Here at Fingerprints we’ve been playing her latest, Light, Dark, Light Again (released last October on AWAL Records) on heavy rotation and we’re delighted that Angie will be here at the shop for a very special, stripped down, Live In-Store Performance and Signing on 3/16 at 2:00pm.
