The legendary Dr. Demento will be stopping in to sign copies of Get Demented With Dr. Demento!, his first new music in ages, paired with a newly remastered and restored version of the long out of print track Shaving Cream, pressed on limited colored 12-inch vinyl by Demented Punk Records, exclusively for Record Store Day.
“Get Demented,” is a wild new single with a Dr. Seuss-inspired visual style and a wink of pure comic genius. If you were one of the Sunday night transistor brigade, listening under the covers and trying not to laugh, this is a must. Backed by nerd-rock outfit the Amoeba People, Get Demented! carries on the tradition of classic novelty music while bringing in sharp, modern themes that fit perfectly in today’s unpredictable times. Starting now, we are opening a limited number of guest list spots for this very special meet & greet opportunity, for those without appointments or coming from out of the area with pre-reservation. We will have a stack available for purchase on Record Store Day as well if you miss out on the online pre-reserved spots. Purchasing “Dr. Demento Covered in Punk” will also grant you a spot on the guest list for this event. Dr. Demento Covered in Punk is a 3LP collection of amazing punk and edgy pop bands doing covers of your favorite Demented songs, with the good Dr providing between the tracks banter, skits, and new versions of everything that made the Dr. Demento Show such a huge part of our week, and allowed it to be a launch pad for so many glorious weirdos. Once your purchase goes through, the name on the order will be added to the guest list automatically. (non transferable). There will also be a sizable amount available for purchase on RSD for those with appointments as well as walk-up customers, beginning at 1:00 on RSD. This reservation opportunity is strictly to ensure that fans who weren’t able to get an appointment on RSD are able to attend, and it is strictly event pick-up only, any unclaimed reservations will be released at signing time.
