“Pay no attention to the end of the world… Welcome to the Twin XL Show” and with that intro the party kicks off, the swells build, the bodies start to move, and suddenly it’s the best summer ever… yet under the dance friendly beats there are deeper themes of isolation and introversion. Welcome to Twin XL.
The Los Angeles trio is the creative brainchild of songwriters and producers Cameron Walker-Wright (vocals), and brothers Stephen Gomez (bass) and John Gomez (guitar). Walker-Wright is part of the synth-pop band Nekokat and the Gomez brothers rose to international fame in The Summer Set. Combining big beats with dark and thoughtful lyrics, Twin XL seems torn between wanting to make you dance and giving you something to think about, and happily, they Fresh off tour dates with The Mowgli’s and Jukebox the Ghost, Twin XL is primed and excited to keep the tour going.
